Milestones!

May was Milestone Month!
The one milestone that I knew was coming was Brant’s first birthday. Our baby boy is not a baby anymore…a little sad. God blessed us with a happy, people pleasing little blogpic2boy. I love how when we go to HEB he tries to catch everyone’s eye, so he can smile at them and get a reaction from them.
I was a bit surprised by Brant’s second milestone. He started walking! It is so funny how their little world changes when they start walking. My world has changed too. Iblogpic11 was unloading groceries and the kids were in the front yard. Normally I don’t have to worry too much because Braelyn knows not to go down the driveway and Brant likes to stay on the soft grass. I was quite surprised when I came out to grab more sacks and he was running down the driveway towards the street.
Braelyn had two great accomplishments in May as well. She is now potty trained! Yipeee! Although a bit challenging the first two days after that it was like a light switch went off. We still have a slip up every once in a while, but I think that is to be expected. Thank you Amy for your advice to “try again in a few months”, you were blogpic3right!
Her second accomplishment was that she sent her pacifiers to the Passy Fairy. She decided, after some gentle prodding, that she should send her passies to the fairy since she was a big girl. We attached them to a dozen balloons and let her release the balloons when she was ready. All was good until naptime rolled around. This process has been harder than the potty training, but we have stuck with it and are down to very minor passy meltdowns.
