Mobility…is this a Good or Bad Thing?

Feb 3rd, 2010 | Category: Family

My life has drastically changed since my last blog. Brant is now crawling. And I don’t mean a little here and there, but he is making it across the house and back.

brant-0210I love the fact that he is more independent. He seems to be so much more content to play by himself. This is such a Blessing to me. It gives me a chance to sit back and watch. It also frees me up for doing some other things (like this blog!). He also follows Braelyn around the house. Now he may be far behind her, but where ever she goes he is trying to keep up with her.

I have also read that crawling helps develop gross and fine motor skills and sensory information. I can’t wait until the sensory information part develops, so he can navigate a footstep in our house.

The draw back to this mobility is bumps and falls. I feel like I am on the edge of my seat all of the time. I do realize that if he does fall (he is also pulling up) it is only 26 inches to the floor, but I can’t control the sick feeling I get in my stomach. And what is up with babies always wanting to pull up on fake fichus trees?

braelyn-0210What is next?…running. Oh my gosh! What am I going to do when I have two toddlers running around here? God bless me!
