I first met Dr. Jarrod at a business expo in Lakeway. We had booths very close to each other, and when there was a lull in traffic, I would go over and talk to him about what he does, since my husband had been having lower back pain. I was intrigued by the concept of not doing adjustments to alleviate the pain for a while, but instead changing a person’s structure to alleviate the pain forever.

After speaking with Dr. Jarrod, I thought it was a good idea to see him myself (not that I was in any pain at the time) but I had had a car accident 4 years prior and thought it would behoove me to make sure I had no structural damage from it that would cause me problems in the future. My husband and I both went into see him the following week. We have never had such a thorough examination and testing done on us. We were extremely impressed and his explanation of why it’s so important to correct your skeletal structure instead of doing quick fixes made total sense to us. We then went in to discuss our test results a week later were even more impressed. I have never seen such a detailed report in my life and it really helped us to understand exactly what had to be done and why. Unfortunately we couldn’t sign up right away, but then 2-3 weeks later, I got this shooting pain down my arm. I spent Easter weekend not being able to stand up or the pain was excruciating. When my index finger turned numb, I knew it was time to call Dr. Jarrod for help.

He did some adjustments, which gave me some relief. He also explained some possibilities of what was going on. After his adjustment I wasn’t getting constant shooting pains, but they did come periodically and the numbness in my finger kept getting worse. I finally called my orthopedic doctor who treated me after my car accident. I felt this was important since the pain was coming from the same area that was damaged due to the accident. He gave me some cortisone pills and told me if it wasn’t better after taking them, to get an MRI and be back to visit him. Well, it wasn’t any better. So I had the MRI and they found I had a herniated disk right where Dr. Jarrod said it was. I sent the test results to Dr. Jarrod and he called me immediately to tell me he could do some things to relieve my pain. Since I didn’t have an appointment with my orthopedic doctor for 2 more weeks, I went in to see Dr. Jarrod for the next two weeks. He did some careful adjustments and then strapped me in with weights to pull my neck straight up. My symptoms didn’t get any worse, and some days they were a bit less painful. Two weeks later when I went to see my orthopedic doctor he put me on really strong cortisone pills, told me to see a chiropractor to engage in cervical distraction traction and if this didn’t work, I would have to come back to get a shot of cortisone directly into my disc. When I told him that Dr. Bagley had already started me on the traction he was surprised since most chiropractors wouldn’t know to do this. He also told me if the cortisone shots did not work, the next step was surgery to put a metal plate in! Well, that didn’t sound like fun!

After taking the medication and doing the traction, I still had the pain. Not quite as strong, and I still couldn’t feel my finger. So I went and had the shot. Thankfully it was not painful but unfortunately it didn’t totally work either. They explained that it could take 2-3 shots to get the inflammation down. Well, at over $2,000 a procedure I was going to do anything I could to not have to have another shot! So over the next several weeks, I went and saw Dr. Jarrod for careful adjustments and neck stretching with weights. I am pleased to report; I was able to cancel my next appointment for a cortisone shot. I have had no pain for weeks and have been able to start the complete skeletal structural program with Dr. Jarrod. I am very excited that I found Dr. Jarrod and Laura. We have seen an improvement in my posture already. One of the best things I like about my appointments is they are both always so happy, friendly and in a good mood, so even if you’ve had a bad day at work, you leave there smiling! Thank you Dr. Jarrod from saving me from the knife.

It has been over a year since my problem with my disc and I have had no re-occuring pain or problem since. With Dr. Jarrod’s therapy; my shoulder, neck and back have been stronger than they have ever been; even before my car accident. After my treatment program, my x-rays showed a great improvement in my alignment and structure which accounts for my lack of pain, and increased mobility. The only thing I regret about being finished with my treatment program is that I don’t get to see Dr. Bagley and Laura on a weekly basis! Thank you Dr. Bagley and Laura - you have improved my life for the rest of my life!
